The American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE)

AAACE is dedicated to the belief that lifelong learning contributes to human fulfillment and positive social change. We envision a more humane world made possible by the diverse practice of our members in helping adults acquire the knowledge, skills and values needed to lead productive and satisfying lives. Through its annual conference, adult educators can become more effective in assisting adult learners to succeed in the global marketplace, at the workplace and in their communities.

This Call for Proposals is an invitation to assist us in developing content for the 2008 conference. We welcome your proposal for a concurrent session or roundtable discussion on a topic of concern and/or interest to teachers, faculty, academic advisors and/or administrators of adult and continuing education programs.

PROPOSAL SUBMISSION

Complete this form. All information must be submitted online using this form and may appear as submitted in the conference program. Please adhere to any word count requirements. The deadline for proposal submissions is Sunday, May 18, 2008.

Questions should be directed to the Program Team: Clare Klunk, Jean Fleming, Lilian Hill, Linda Sayre, and Mary Cooper, at aaaceproposals08@yahoo.com.

PROPOSAL REVIEW & ACCEPTANCE
Proposals will be reviewed by a panel. Available slots will be proportionately awarded by content areas, and will be filled by the highest ranking proposals, as space permits. The Program Committee may, at its discretion, combine related presentations or designate a proposed concurrent session as a roundtable discussion. The review process will be completed by Wednesday, June 18, 2008.

NOTIFICATION & INFORMATION
Notifications of acceptance decisions will be e-mailed to all who submitted proposals by Friday, June 27, 2008. The Program Committee requests that all selected presenters confirm that they will present at the conference by Friday, August 1, 2008.

All presenters must register for the conference by Friday, September 12, 2008 to be included in the program. Names of the primary presenter and any co-presenters will appear in the conference program if received by this date.

A-V EQUIPMENT
Upon request, an overhead projector and screen and/or a flip chart and markers will be available for all sessions. There will be a rental fee charged, however, for all other equipment requested. The cost for rental will be included in the presenter confirmation letters, and presenters will be expected to pay this fee along with the conference registration fee. In lieu of renting equipment, presenters may bring their own.

Presenters
In addition to completing the information below for the Primary Presenter, please provide the same information for each additional session or roundtable presenter. Each presenter must register for the conference.

All information below is required except where noted as optional.

The Primary Presenter will be responsible for communication of information between the Program Committee and all co-presenters. Primary Presenter should include both permanent and summer email addresses, if different — acceptance notices will be sent by Friday, June 27, 2008.

Please indicate your 1st and 2nd choices for date and time of presentation. We will work to provide you with your first choice if possible, but it will ultimately depend on the number of proposals accepted.
